Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Hyss platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

Hyss is a crew management platform for audio-visual (AV) and live event production companies. The Service facilitates the discovery, scheduling, communication, and invoicing processes between employers and freelancers.

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account as either an Employer or a Freelancer. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Employer accounts may invite additional team members. Freelancer accounts represent individual professionals and must contain accurate information about qualifications and experience. You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and complete information during registration and to keep your profile up to date.

4. Payment Terms

Compensation rates are set between employers and freelancers for each engagement. Hyss facilitates payment links and invoicing tools but is not a payment processor — all payments are handled through third-party providers such as Stripe. Employers agree to pay for services rendered in accordance with the agreed-upon terms. Freelancers are responsible for their own tax obligations. Hyss may charge service fees as disclosed on the platform. Payment disputes should be resolved directly between the parties involved or through the applicable payment platform (e.g., Stripe, QuickBooks).

5. Intellectual Property

The Hyss platform, including its design, code, logos, and content, is the intellectual property of Hyss, Inc. Users retain ownership of content they upload to the platform, but grant Hyss a license to use such content as necessary to provide the Service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform without prior written consent.

6. Limitation of Liability

Hyss provides the platform on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hyss shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. Hyss does not guarantee the quality of work performed by freelancers or the reliability of employers. Hyss is not a party to the employment relationship between employers and freelancers.

7. Termination

Hyss reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, though certain provisions of these Terms will survive termination.

8. Contact Information
